RFID sample storage, transfer and retrieval

The SCOTTI® based product line is the first electronically controlled storing, transferring and retrieval system that uses RFID technology to retain information about samples. The chip uses radio frequencies to input information about the sample into the data memory that is located on the sample container and provides tracking of the sample during sample preparation.

The information stored in the RFID tag could be as detailed as a standard operating procedure (SOP on chip) or as a replacement for bar coding. SCOTTI allows the user to collect and store data about their samples, from collection to analysis, establishing a complete chain of custody or audit trails.

SCOTTI tools and systems use (RFID) for imprinting and retrieving information: to write, read, and retain information where it counts - on the containers that hold your company’s valuable chemical assets. It uses cabinets, refrigerators, freezers, etc, equipped with RFID antennas and LAN/WiFi connectivity so that you always know what is in those containers, where they are, where they have been, what they have been doing, irrespective of where you are as long as you have access to the world wide web.
