Honeywell (NYSE: HON) announced today that it has appointed Dr Venkatraman Mohan as biopharma technical development leader for Honeywell's Burdick & Jackson line of high purity solvents and reagents. He will report directly to Dr James Przybytek, technology leader for Honeywell's Research Chemicals business.
Mohan will lead product development and technical support activities for new and existing biopharm reagents. He will also work closely with the commercial team on a wide range of business development, sales and training activities. He will be based at Honeywell's Muskegon, MI. facility, which is one of the company's Centers of Excellence.
Prior to joining Honeywell, Mohan spent more than 12 years in the industry serving in a number of cross-functional capacities such as drug discovery and business development. He also has experience with securing government grants and building alliances with global industry and academic groups.
He most recently served as associate director for Sceata Technology Group, LLC, where he developed and recommended go-to market strategies for clients in the Life Science arena. Sceata, based in Princeton, NJ., is a technology commercialization firm that offers strategic operational capital and advisory services.
Mohan also worked at Isis Pharmaceuticals, Carlsbad, CA., where he focused on the oligonucelotide-based therapeutics market segment. Mohan earned a doctorate in chemistry from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India and an MBA from Rutgers University.
