Honeywell Burdick & Jackson™ Expands Line of Labready™ Solvent Blends

01 June 2007

New ready-to-use blends deliver same economical benefits, consistency for critical laboratory applications.

Honeywell (NYSE: HON) Burdick & Jackson™ announced today that it has added 11 standard blends to its LabReady™ Solvent Blends line. Honeywell launched the ready-to-use product line in January 2006.

Like the initial products, the new blends are manufactured using Honeywell's proprietary, closed-loop technology that ensures solvent consistency and accuracy. The result is improved efficiency and reduced overhead costs for analytical laboratories worldwide. Honeywell LabReady Solvent Blends enable laboratories to focus on their core business rather than preparing solvent blends in-house.

'Our blending process continues to provide significant value to our customers,' said Scott Gaddis, global business manager for Honeywell Burdick & Jackson. 'Actual cost comparisons have shown that a lab can reduce labor costs by more than 20 per cent using our ready-to-use blends. We also can help customers reduce many of the risks associated with storing, blending and disposing of hazardous solvents and acids in-house.'

LabReady Solvent Blends have less batch-to-batch variation versus competitive or in-house blended products, which is especially important in a highly calibrated analytical lab environment. The blending technology meets isocratic and gradient HPLC and most LC-MS requirements, and allows for a cost-effective product in all package sizes.

Standard blends now available include Acetic acid, TFA or Formic acid, in various concentrations with acetonitrile and/or water and/or methanol. Honeywell Burdick & Jackson also offers a wide range of custom formulations.

Honeywell Burdick & Jackson is a leading manufacturer of solvents and reagents for a variety of industries, including pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical, academic and research. Burdick & Jackson pioneered the technology to purify solvents more than 45 years ago. Burdick & Jackson develops and manufactures its full line of high purity solvents at facilities in Muskegon, Michigan; Seelze, Germany and Ulsan, South Korea.
