ECACC - Europe's Largest Collection of Cell Cultures

24 August 2007

Cell cultures and cell derived products are being increasingly used in biotech, and are essential to applications such as high throughput screening, toxicology and other bioassays. For such assays to perform to specification and to assure reproducibility it is necessary that all reagents and start materials are standardized and quality assured, including any cell lines used.

The supply of cell cultures can be a drain on valuable resources and can be fraught with risk. Often companies resort to diverting resource from research programmes or investing in costly robotic systems to satisfy their cell demand.

ECACC offers an alternative.

We are here to help companies manage cell culture in their laboratories, offer training and provide clients with an outsource partner. We can supply cells to support entire programmes of work, either from our collection or from cell lines provided from the client.

Support services provided by ECACC include:

  • On- or off-site training courses which can be tailor made to meet specific client needs
  • Cell analysis including the profiling and analysis of cell growth
  • Quality assured cell banking facilitating up to 200 ampoules
  • Assay ready cultures
  • Genetic modification of cells to client specified vectors
  • Serum-free adaption and banking
  • Quality control testing

ABOUT ECACC
