Boehringer Ingelheim is the first pharmaceutical production plant in Mexico certified by the FDA to produce, commercialize and export prescription medicines to the USA.
Its high quality standards, strict production processes, remarkable state-of-the-art technology and skilled Mexican labor have been key elements in Boehringer Ingelheim to get the FDA certification for third time in a row.
"Having achieved this third certification is not casual. In Boehringer Ingelheim we have been building a healthy quality system because we strive to provide effective medicines which contribute to improve the health of people not only in Mexico, but in other countries around the globe where we have been exporting our products. On the other hand, we are very pleased to confirm the skilled labor that can be found in Mexico as in any advanced or developed country in the world", Dr Engelbert Tjeenk Willink, CEO of the company in Mexico, mentioned.
The annual production capacity of the plant is 140 million units, and since 2006, the company offers its facilities to local and international companies for contract manufacturing.
"The deep knowledge we have on the pharmaceutical business and our high quality standards have made us grow in contract manufacturing for other companies. Our customers can get an integral and fit-to-suit service for their products, according to their needs, from reception and analysis of raw materials, to door-to-door delivery", Dr Siegfried Hackl, operations director, stated.
