CYCLOSPORINE IMMUNOSUPRESSANTSThe immunosuppressant market is one of the Group's key operational sectors. Our focus on maintaining state-of-the-art practices and targeting investment towards this sector has led to our manufacture of the only cyclosporine microemulsion plant in the Southern Hemisphere. Cyclosporine is used to prevent the rejection of transplanted organs and our reputation as a manufacturer of high quality cyclosporine microemulsion is a source of pride to the whole Group, and a reference point for the national industry. PHARMACOLOGY EXPERTISE AND TECHNOLOGY Ongoing improvement in our pharmacology technology is critical to the Group's expansion. Production automation is already in place, and our pharmaceutical analysis processes (following GMP) ensure quality standards from raw material to final product. With a production capacity of 220 million units per year, the Group offers an extensive line of prescription and generic medication to domestic and international markets. The group invests heavily in state-of-the-art pharmaceutical manufacturing and analysis equipment and professional training. Our Research and Development (R&D) area is recognized as a world class EU GLP compliant development center. The Group is supported by renowned national and international consultants, and in partnership with major universities. This not only enables the exchange of knowledge and experience but also enables high levels of productivity. PIONEERING GENERICS PRODUCTION EMS is the first laboratory to get approval from Anvisa (Brazil's national health vigilance agency) to produce generic drugs in Brazil. Currently, the Group leads the field with the largest line of generics drugs in Brazil, across all the major therapeutic classes.
