GP Grenzach Produktions GmbH is an independent Bayer HealthCare company, a division of Bayer AG. We have over a hundred years of experience in the production and packaging of pharmaceuticals and we rank as one of the most innovative and highly adaptable technology and production centres in Europe.

We produce, package and distribute valuable pharmaceuticals, cosmetic articles, food additives and medical devices for the pharmaceutical and the healthcare markets.

We offer our clients a large range of services including the production of sterile and non-sterile liquid pharmaceuticals, as well as ointments and other semi-solids, and packaging in syringes, bottles and vials.

GP can also carry out the optimisation of manufacturing processes and the technical evaluation of alternative starting materials for semi-solid products. The packaging of various pharmaceuticals in blister and multi-dose packages completes our wide range of services.

FILLING AND PACKAGING OF SYRINGES AND VIALS

GP's modern and efficient production facilities are ideal for the production of sterile and non-sterile solutions. A large number of different batch sizes can be produced as requested.

Under aseptic conditions, syringes or vials can be filled with sterile-filtered bulk products. After labelling, the products are placed into thermically formed PVC blisters and packed in secondary packaging. Non-sterile solutions are bottled, labelled and secondarily packed.

PRODUCTION, FILLING AND PACKAGING OF SEMI-SOLIDS

As the manufacturer of Bepanthen® and Bepanthol® we have extensive experience of working with ointments, creams, lotions and gels. We can fill eye ointment tubes under aseptic conditions. A special filling line makes it possible to fill and seal our products into sachets made of storable foil.

Aluminium, laminate and polyethylene tubes are our first choice for the packaging of semi-solid bulk products.

Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities offer a great choice of different batch sizes. We also operate a pilot plant that allows the production of small quantities, such as clinical trial samples, and the optimisation of manufacturing processes.

PACKAGING OF SOLIDS IN BLISTER PACKS AND BOTTLES

Our range of packaging services includes solid pharmaceutical preparations. Tablets, coated tablets and capsules are packaged in PVC / PP or aluminium blisters and multi-dose glass or plastic containers, with fitting secondary packaging.

We also label ampoules and vials and pack them in thermically formed PVC blisters before placing them in two-chamber folding cartons.

Although we carry out small packaging orders rapidly and efficiently, special tasks like the charging of displays and the addition of measuring cups or beakers and other application aids are part of our daily routine in manual packaging.

Furthermore, we offer re-labelling, of clinical trial samples for instance, re-packaging and substitution of the package insert.

QUALITY CONTROL

The focus of our quality control departments is on the regular analysis of all active pharmaceutical ingredients and packaging materials, as well as analysis of the bulk and finished products.

We carry out chemical, physical, microbiological and technical tests on the products we use or manufacture. We also perform stability studies on pharmaceutical preparations and active ingredients, as recommended by the ICH guidelines.

Value determination of vitamins with microbiological methods, and of heparins and hirudin, in both raw materials and the finished preparations, completes our range of services.

Our services are not limited to products we manufacture ourselves. If requested, we can complete the necessary analytics and the validation of the analytical methods on products entrusted to us for packaging.
