Crossject was founded in 2001 to develop and market innovative solutions in the drug delivery field. In partnership with leading global industrial companies, including SNPE, Schott/Forma-Vitrum and Cardinal Health, Crossject has developed a range of needle-free injection devices for subcutaneous, intramuscular or intradermal routes.

CROSSJECT NEEDLE-FREE INJECTION DEVICES

The Crossject device reconciles all 'needle phobics' with injections. It eliminates the risk of needle-stick injury and needle contamination, and thanks to its ease of use, it improves patient quality of life; some treatments can even be administered by self-injection.

SAFE AND USER FRIENDLY INJECTION SYSTEMS

To perform an injection, simply pick up the device, open the cap, and the device is ready to use. Place the device on the injection site, press on the skin surface until the device starts automatically. The injection is particularly silent and extremely fast.

INNOVATIVE GAS GENERATOR SYSTEM

The Crossject needle-free injection system uses a totally original gas generator system. Unlike other devices, which encase compressed gas, the gas propelling the liquid is generated at the same time as the injection starts.

RELIABLE INJECTION

Two reactions take place to ensure the needle-free injection is completely reliable. An initial, fast reaction generates gas in an appropriate pressure profile, allowing medicine to be propelled through and penetrate into the skin. The reaction can be preset in relation to tissue type, depth of injection and viscosity of the liquid.

Total penetration of the medicine into the tissue is completed by the second, slower reaction. This generates the end part of the pressure profile, so that the product is continually distributed to the required depth. This counterbalances the natural release of gas from the first reaction. The length of time taken for this second reaction depends on the quantity of liquid to be injected.

OPTIMAL INJECTION SAFETY AND PRECISION

This highly flexible technology adjusts perfectly the amount, depth and viscosity of the product to be injected. It provides optimal safety and perfect injection reliability.

Fully compliant with existing pharmaceutical standards, the device is pre-filled and the drug is stored in a container made of type I pharmaceutical glass and rubber pistons fully compliant with the pharmacopoeia.

The container can easily be filled-in on conventional filling lines currently used for syringes.
