Ing Erich Pfeiffer - Pharmaceutical Spray and Dispensing Systems

Founded in 1947 in the South of Germany, Ing. Erich Pfeiffer GmbH is today one of the world’s leading manufacturers of pharmaceutical spray and dispensing systems, with 660 employees. Its product range comprises mechanical and electronic devices for multidose and unitdose applications, suitable for nasal, oral and topical drug administration.

All of the Pfeiffer products are designed, engineered and produced in Germany. They are then supplied to customers across the five continents via an extensive network of sales offices.

PHARMACEUTICAL NASAL SPRAYS

Innovation characterizes both the entire Pfeiffer product range and the company’s history. In 1952 the world’s first leak-proof metal pump numbered among the early Pfeiffer innovations. This was followed by the world’s first nasal spray pump in 1972.

The list of innovations has grown and grown with today’s range representing a series of products using the latest technology translated directly into measurable customer benefits and dedicated to patient safety. Pfeiffer also demonstrates relentless commitment to researching innovative new systems for future therapies and applications, such as vaccinations and the treatment of the central nervous system.

THE CARTRIDGE PUMP SYSTEM

With the modular cartridge system from Pfeiffer, customization and flexibility reach new heights. This product family is suitable for both preserved and unpreserved solutions, offering a nasal spray pump, a pump for topical, oral or aural application, plus a nasal drop dispenser.

The Cartridge spray system ensures the major, proven benefits of consistently smooth spray and reliable, precisely targeted performance. Flexibility comes from the pump’s ability to be integrated into existing processes and products, plus interchangeable design.

THE UPSIDE DOWN PUMP

The new generation Pfeiffer upside down pump brings consistently excellent performance in both upright and upside down positions with a low actuation force. Its ease of use makes it ideal for patients of all ages when applying both nasal and topical medical products. Ultimate flexibility comes from the modular principle, a first for this system.

QUALITY AND SAFETY PROCEDURES

All Pfeiffer products are manufactured to the highest international standards. In 2006 Pfeiffer became the first spray and dispensing systems supplier to obtain the new ISO 15378 for Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). The implementation of these principles is particularly important for patient safety since the primary packaging has direct contact with the respective medicinal product.

CONVENIENCE THAT COUNTS

Pfeiffer is dedicated to providing customers with an extremely broad spectrum of versatile products. This is complemented by comprehensive technical and regulatory support management. The flexibility and convenience of the Pfeiffer spray systems have been recognized through a long list of international packaging design awards. This includes the 2006 international forum design award plus a nomination for the latest prestigious German Bundesdesignpreis for its complete package line.
