Mylan is a recognized leader in the transdermal drug delivery and medical product components market. We manufacture pharmaceutical transdermal products, medical product components and pharmaceutical labels. We supply an extensive list of branded films, transdermal backings and medical laminates.

Mylan is the first company to receive FDA approval for the provision of generic transdermal drug delivery systems. In 1996 the FDA approved Mylan to manufacture and sell transdermal nitroglycerin patches.

In 2000, we received FDA approval to manufacture and sell a generic seven-day estradiol patch. In 2001, the company also started selling a nitroglycerin patch in Japan through its marketing partner, and the company has received regulatory approval to market its nitroglycerin patches in various European countries.

MEDIFILM® - MEDICAL, OSTOMY AND WOUND CARE FILMS

The MEDIFILM® line of extruded and co-extruded films contains four film product categories, each with distinct characteristics that meet the specialized demands of wound care, ostomy, and transdermal applications.

Mylan's films are cast from 0.5mm to 10mm thick and widths of up to 61in. Our innovative co-extrusion operation allows two different resins to be configured in A-B or A-B-A laminates along with a substrate, all in a single pass.

Our MEDIFILM® line is produced in medical manufacturing areas in accordance with ISO requirements. These films possess a range of customizable features, including embossed matte / gloss finishes, pigments (including flesh tones), anti-static agents, hypoallergenic adhesives and low coefficient additives.

MEDIFLEX® TRANSDERMAL BACKINGS

Mylan has created standard occlusive backing materials to serve the specific transdermal needs of the pharmaceutical and medical industries. The MEDIFLEX® line offers a line of standard materials and laminates that are available in a wide range of roll widths and thicknesses.

As with our MEDIFILM® line, our MEDIFLEX® transdermal backing materials are ISO-conformant and produced in specialized medical manufacturing areas. They are supported by Type III Drug Master Files, simplifying your FDA filing.

MEDIRELEASE® MEDICAL RELEASE LINERS

These silicone and fluorosilicone coated release liners are available in a wide range of coat weight, release rates and substrates. We have developed the MEDIRELEASE® line of standard release liners for use with PIB, acrylic or silicone adhesive systems.

MEDIDERM® MEDICAL LAMINATES

MEDIDERM® Medical Laminates are produced by combining Mylan's existing component backing materials (MEDIFILM® or MEDIFLEX®), adhesives and release liners (MEDIRELEASE®) to form a single component product. Available in roll widths up to 43in, the MEDIDERM® line provides the time and cost saving benefits of standardized transdermal and wound care products, while offering a range of options usually only found in custom manufacturing.

The MEDIDERM® laminate backing material can be further customized by using other materials including wovens, foams and foils. The MEDIDERM® hydrophilic or hydrophobic pressure sensitive adhesive is available with PIB, silicone and acrylic based systems. All our adhesives are produced in coat weights of 3g/m² and upwards.

MEDIDERM® medical laminates are cost-effective, offer efficient moisture permeability, are highly resistant to oxidation and minimize skin irritation.
