A.KRÜSS Optronic - High-Precision Optical Measuring Instruments

Established in 1796, A.KRÜSS Optronic has been producing high-precision optical measuring instruments for more than 200 years. In a nationwide competition held in 2005 the company won an award to become one of Germany's "Top 100" innovative medium-sized companies.

POLARIMETERS

With polarimeters manufactured by A.KRÜSS Optronic you can swiftly analyse the specific components of a solution. In certain areas of application, polarimeters can replace other more complicated measuring methods such as HPLC.

REFRACTOMETERS

Our refractometers are ideal for the fast, simple and precise analysis of the solid contents of a liquid. Within seconds a few drops of a sample are enough to determine the dissolved solid contents.

The new refractometer series DR6000 offers sophisticated features including a new user surface, CFR Part 11 compliance, GLP conformity, SQL database organised storage of all measurement data, network interface with SQL routines, export of data to a USB-stick, software update via USB-stick, and six user languages.

All these features define the new DR6000 refractometer as the perfect instrument for FDA-regulated work areas with an integrated LIMS. Despite their sophistication, the instruments remain easy to use in all other laboratories as well. The compact, user-orientated design and the modern electronics once more underline the innovative spirit at A.KRÜSS Optronic.

MEDICAL MICROSCOPES

A.KRÜSS Optronic produces microscopes for various areas of application, including biological microscopes, stereo microscopes, stereo-zoom microscopes and inversion microscopes, as well as photographic and video add-ons.

Binocular / trinocular microscopes with Köhler illumination are perfect for sophisticated medical and biological examinations, while the MBL 3200 biological inverse-microscope is suited to identifying and analysing biological substances and laboratory stocks.

COOLING, CIRCULATING AND PELTIER THERMOSTATS

Our high-performance thermostats ensure temperature control in lab instruments such as polarimeters and refractometers. They are easy-to-use and provide high temperature accuracy. We offer cooling and circulating thermostats in addition to compact Peltier versions.

SPECTROPHOTOMERS AND SPECTROMETERS

A.KRÜSS Optronic also offers instruments for measuring the wavelengths of separated electromagnetic radiation. Spectrophotometers measure the spectral characteristics of various materials, and are ideal for qualitative and quantitative analysis, as well as observing emission and absorption spectra. Spectrometers can accurately determine the optical data of prisms.

COLOUR SENSORS

In many cases colour is one of those essential features of a product that has to be "just right". A reliable method of checking and controlling the colour of a product is needed. But when is a colour "just right" and who is the judge? Ultimately, it is the consumer or product user who passes judgment on the quality of a colour. With this in mind, product manufacturers have been eager to find a way to accurately simulate the "visual impression" of the human eye in industrial colour control.

The A.KRÜSS Optronic perceptive colour sensor KCS8 "recognises" colour just like humans do, which means it possesses the same spectral sensitivity. Thus, the sensor "perceives" different shades of colour in the same manner as the human eye. This feature is what sets the KCS8 apart from other colour sensor systems. The KCS8 can mimic the human eye when determining whether a colour is "just right".
