World Precision Instruments - Amplifiers, Stimulators, Trans-Epithelial Electric Resistance (TEER) Measurement and Nitric-Oxide SensingWorld Precision Instruments (WPI), began in 1967 as a small manufacturer of amplifiers and stimulators used in nerve, skin and muscle research. Now, 40 years later, we have grown to become the world leader in Trans-Epithelial Electric Resistance (TEER) measurement, nitric-oxide sensing and more. WPI's innovations include the Apollo 4000, the world's leading nitric oxide and free radical detector; the EVOM, the most widely used voltohmmeter for TEER research; and the EVC4000, the most advanced epithelial voltage and current clamp amplifier available. APOLLO 1000 SINGLE-CHANNEL FREE RADICAL DETECTOROur new Apollo 1000 is a single-channel free radical detector available for use with our nitric oxide, oxygen, hydrogen peroxide, and hydrogen sulfide sensors. It is L-shaped, allowing nitric-oxide measurement in adherent cells and the sensor surface to be parallel to the cell layer. The lower detection limit of this sensor is less than 100pM of nitric oxide. EVOM EPITHELIAL VOLTOHMMETEREVOM, our epithelial voltohmmeter, was the first instrument designed to specifically perform routine TEER measurement in cell-culture research. The battery-powered unit is now the most widely used voltohmmeter in the world. AMPLIFIER AND STIMULATOR TECHNICAL SUPPORTAnyone who works with research instrumentation will know that the technical support service provided by the manufacturer forms a crucial aspect when making a decision to purchase. At WPI we pride ourselves in the quality of our technical support and the speed at which we can provide it. Many of our technical-support staff are experienced researchers themselves, and they are well aware of the importance of keeping equipment up and running. AMPLIFIER AND STIMULATOR PRODUCT DEVELOPMENTToday, WPI continues to diversify and innovate – our latest catalogue contains over 1,500 items, including data-acquisition systems, digital cameras, glass capillaries, pre-pulled glass micropipettes, microsyringe pumps, fiber-optic spectrometers, micromanipulators, electrodes and more. Our newest products include a popular line of inexpensive micro-dissecting instruments, adjustable pipetters and binocular microscopes. ISO9001:2001 AMPLIFIERS AND STIMULATORSOur UK office has attained accreditation to the ISO9001:2001 quality standard, demonstrating the management's commitment to comply with our customers' requirements and to deliver improvement and customer satisfaction. WPI also has offices in the USA, Germany, Japan and Australia.
