Temptime Temperature Monitoring Devices

time-temperature monitoring devices

Founded in 1987, Temptime is dedicated to improving public health worldwide. Our scientists developed the first miniaturised technology to monitor temperature exposure of oral polio vaccine vials.

This device, recognised globally as the HEATmarker vaccine vial monitor (VVM), continues to be the only technology that meets strict specifications of the world’s leading health organisations for distributing vaccines to developing countries. Almost seven billion HEATmarker VVMs have been used on life-saving vaccines in 150 countries.

Today, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, specialty pharmacies, and hospitals use our chemical and electronic devices to improve storing and handling of medical products that improve and save lives. Our mission is to monitor these products with 100% accuracy to ensure they have not been exposed to temperature events that could damage their effectiveness.

Indicators for temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals

A wide range of patented time-temperature indicators are available for temperature-sensitive vaccines, pharmaceuticals, biologics, blood products, and medical devices.

Temptime’s portfolio accurately measures cumulative heat exposure (HEATmarker), freeze events (FREEZEmarker), threshold heat events (LIMITmarker and Safe-T-Vue), or a combination of heat and freeze events during shipment (TransTracker). We help clients select and customise indicator solutions that fit the medical product’s stability profile and shipping requirements.

The company also develops customer-specific logistical implementation plans.

Temptime develops two US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) cleared 510(k) medical devices. The company’s quality management system is based on the FDA’s regulation requirements to meet good manufacturing practices (GMP), as well as ISO: 9001 and ISO: 13485 standards.

Temptime is audited by the FDA, global vaccine manufacturers and several of the world’s largest pharmaceutical and medical device companies.

Market leadership and innovation

When TransTracker® was introduced into the specialty pharmacy market, it defined how a reliable, low cost, temperature monitoring device could improve patient satisfaction and enhance temperature assurance of critical specialty medications during shipment.

Today, seven of the ten largest specialty pharmacies use a Temptime device in shipments to their patients. Our newly launched EDGE™ wireless temperature monitoring sensors are used in shipments and to monitor warehouses, refrigerators, or freezers.

Heat and freeze indicators for shipments

TransTracker’s single-use, irreversible visual indicators monitor the temperature inside parcels of heat-sensitive medicine during shipping, in a cost-effective and reliable way.

They are available for both heat and low-temperature indication, and can be combined on a single TransTracker card to bracket upper and lower limit temperature excursions.

Wireless, portable sensors for monitoring and controlling cold chain performance

The EDGE family of sensors and software applications provide wireless temperature tracking, mobile connectivity and data-sharing capabilities for cold chain performance monitoring and control.

EDGE devices offer:

  • Bluetooth® enabled technology for robust wireless connectivity
  • Temperature data retrieval through packing materials, containers, trucks, cold equipment, and environmentally controlled rooms
  • Smartphone or mobile device setup, monitoring and tracking with EDGEVueTM App
  • Cloud data-sharing and storage with EDGEVue App and EDGECloudTM services
  • Line-of-sight sensing range of 50m (164ft)
  • Data logging functions for number of alarms, alarm limits, measurement intervals and starting options (immediate or delayed)
