Nitika Chemicals - Food / Lake Colours and Stearates

Nitika Chemicals develops and manufactures a complete range of food / lake colours, stearates and other products for the bulk drugs and fine chemicals industry. All our products are made in our Indian facility, which is FDA approved and GMP certified. We have applied for WHO, GMP and European DMF certification, and we should have achieved these documents by the end of 2006.

We are well-versed in delivering quality products in large outputs to our customers, and are specialists in the development and manufacture of metallic stearates. Nitika Chemicals has developed in-house modern technology that enables the manufacture of extra light stearates, magaldrate and other specialised chemicals.

STEARATES

Nitika Chemicals produces magnesium, calcium, zinc, sodium, ferric, lithium, barium and other stearates, including 12-hydroxy products. Aluminum distearate and tristearate is also produced, alongside aluminium and glyceryl monostearate.

FOOD COLOURS AND THEIR ALUMINIUM LAKES (FD AND C DYES / PIGMENTS)

Nitika Chemicals manufacture:

• FD and C yellow 5 (tartrazine), yellow 6 (sunset yellow), yellow 10 (quinoline yellow)
• FD and C red 2 (amarnath), 3 (erythrosine), 40 red (allura red)
• FD and C blue 1 (brilliant blue), blue 2 (indigo carmine)
• Ponceau 4R, carmosine
• Fast Red E and other blends / customized colours

TABLET COATING MATERIALS AND OTHER EXCIPIENTS

We produce:

• Cellulose acetate phthalate (cellacephate, cap)
• Hydroxypropyl methoxy cellouse phthalates (hpmc phthalates, hypromellose phthalate)
• Ready-mix film coating material (Colkot)
• Customised and regular shades of FD and C pigments or aluminum lakes (Colak)
• Non-peril seeds of various materials
• Directly compressible granules of lactose and other materials

ANTACID BULK ACTIVES

Nitika Chemicals manufacture hydroxides of aluminium, co-dried aluminium and magnesium in a range of pastes and gels. We also produce aluminium magnesium silicate, hydrotalcite, sucarlphate, magnesium trisilicate, magaldrate, and magnesium carbonate gel.

CHEMICAL MANUFACTURING OPERATIONS

The design and construction of our manufacturing facility has been made according to cGMP guidelines to produce more than 1,000mt/yr of various products, which will be doubled this year to 2,000mt/yr.

Quality assurance starts with the selection of raw materials and follows the product until it reaches the customer's hands. The consistently high quality of our products is guaranteed through rigorous checks on all raw/packaging materials and by in-process and end-product controls that adopt stringent standards based on modern analytic techniques.

PEOPLE BEHIND NITIKA CHEMICALS

The company was founded by a team of young and dynamic professionals headed by Mr Ravleen Singh Khurana, who graduated with Masters degrees in pharmaceutical technologies and business administration in 1991. The company has received the Entrepreneurship Excellence Award from Maharashtra Council for Entrepreneurship Development.
