Using skills, knowledge, and close working partnerships with growers around the world, William Ransom is evolving from a simple pharmaceutical and extract manufacturer into a company leading the development of natural consumer healthcare products.

The company was founded over 160 years ago in 1846 in Hitchin, Hertfordshire by William Ransom. William was a Quaker philanthropist and most importantly for us, a botanist. William, a contemporary of Charles Darwin, was a highly influential figure in early research into the analysis of botanicals.

Our brands and products fall into seven main categories. The key task will be to group the brands under a single umbrella brand to enhance consumer understanding of the company's offering.

Following extensive consumer research and retail customer consultation, work on this all-important part of creating a cohesive, far easier to access brand is well underway with the resulting first new designs in-store in the first half of 2009.

Fluoride-free natural oral care products

Aloe Dent is a range of fluoride-free natural oral care products including toothpastes and mouthwash, all containing soothing aloe vera juice, combined with a powerful blend of carefully selected natural, active ingredients.

Tea tree oil has natural antiseptic qualities that provide natural protection for healthy gums and whiter teeth. Contains aloe vera, Co-Q-10 and escin (from horse chestnut). Regular brushing will help prevent the build up of plaque and tartar.

Skin care and hair care aloe vera range

A range of organic aloe vera skincare and sun care products, produced from 99.9% pure aloe gel. The range is paraben free and helps to moisturise, soften and hydrate your skin naturally.

Fragrance free - lanolin free and preservative-free emollient products

Allergenics is a range of fragrance-free, lanolin-free and preservative free emollient products for those prone to dry and itchy skin conditions. Also suitable for people who may be prone to eczema and dermatitis.

All Australian tea tree products

Aborigines discovered the benefits of tea tree thousands of years ago and it's still used today for its natural antiseptic qualities. All Australian tea tree products use high quality tea tree essential oil as its base and are bought direct from the plantation. The range is paraben, SLS, synthetic perfume and fragrance free and includes pure essential oils, first aid, hair care, skin care, blemish care and lip balm.

High quality glucosamine supplements

A range of high quality glucosamine supplements for joint care, some of which contain other joint loving ingredients such as Chondroitin, rosehip, MSM, manganese, vitamin c and fish oils. Available as tablets, drinks, gels and patches.

ActivJuice for Joints is available as both a tangy lemon juice and orange juice, offering an alternative and refreshing way to take glucosamine sulphate which helps maintain healthy joints.
