Pentaprint® High-Shrink Polyester Shrink-Label Films Now Available from KlÖckner Pentaplast

Gordonsville, Virginia, September 11, 2006 - The Pentaprint® product line of shrink-label films has been extended to include Pentaprint® E749/22 a high-shrink polyester film with multiple shrink characteristics for all full-body shrink-sleeve labels, in particular highly contoured containers. This unique film combines high-shrink properties with little to no machine-direction (MD) shrinkage and low shrink force to produce a finished label that remains extremely uniform across the most highly contoured container - in particular the bottom portion of the container. These films prevent the "smile" typically seen with other polyester films. Klöckner Pentaplast is the first global manufacturer of this film.
Due to the multiple shrink properties, the new Pentaprint® E749/22 films can be more broadly utilized than other polyester shrink-label films. The films are engineered for 75% shrink properties and are ideal for highly contoured containers. The high-performance surface characteristics of the film further enhance printability and allow a myriad of graphic schemes to be utilized. As with all Klöckner Pentaplast shrink films, this new Pentaprint® film offers excellent gauge control, lay-flat properties, ink adhesion, and seaming ability. The Pentaprint® films are suitable for flexographic and gravure printing processes.
