Gordonsville, Virginia - September 11, 2006 - The Pentaprint® product line of printing films has been extended to include Pentaprint® W-5113 rigid high-tear resistant (HTR) polymer blended films for outdoor signs and tags that can withstand inclement weather. This film has been engineered to provide a strong, durable substrate allowing customers to put the tag with the plant much earlier in the growing cycle as compared to styrene films available in the marketplace today. Klöckner Pentaplast is the only North America supplier of this film.
When combined with the correct UV and conventional ink systems, Pentaprint® HTR films are the most robust tag films in the marketplace. The films have passed rigorous fifteen-month testing for extreme cold, heat, wind, sun, and rain. In addition, Pentaprint® HTR films are more durable than standard styrene films - they can withstand 2000% more bends at sub-zero temperatures and are 300% more tear resistant. These films process easily and can be scored and cut on existing equipment. Along with excellent thermoforming characteristics, superior opacity, and brightness, Pentaprint® HTR film offers excellent chemical resistance and water barrier properties. They are suitable for flexographic and gravure printing processes.
"The new Pentaprint® rigid high-tear resistant (HTR) blended films are ideal for outdoor signs and tags which can stand up to the outside elements," comments Dolph Himmelbauer, Klöckner Pentaplast's product manager for high-impact polystyrene and polypropylene. "Along with our existing high-impact polystyrene, polypropylene, vinyl, and polyester printing films, we continue to provide innovation for our customers by offering the broadest selection and most cost-effective solutions in the industry."
