BlueSens - Gas Analysers for BioprocessesBlueSens gas sensor develops and markets Process Analytical Technology (PAT) conform sensors, which are compliant with FDA for many gases such as CO2 and O2. Founded in 2001 as a specialist for gas analysis in bioprocesses, BlueSens is the market leader and supplies its sensors worldwide. The applications stretch from basic research through to GMP production. The innovative structure allows use of the sensors without having to take samples, wherever gas analysis during bioprocesses is required. IN-SITU GAS ANALYSISBlueSens offers in-situ gas analysis for process-controlling fermentations. The company offers the simplest installation of the BCP series for fermenters through direct installation in the exhaust gas line with no sampling. There is no exhaust gas treatment (exhaust gas cooler) necessary, and the fermenters require minimum maintenance without test gases. The BCP series is suitable for every make of fermenter. Further advantages of the analysers include:
BCPREFERM: GAS ANALYSIS OPTIMISATION TOOLThe same sensors are also used in the BCpreFerm system, which is used for gas analysis process optimization (scale up) for flasks up to large-scale fermenters. The system comprises up to 12 sensors that are linked to a computer via an electronic multiplexer. The related software visualizes the results and can calculate parameters such as the Oxygen Uptake-Rate (OUR), the Carbon-dioxide Emission Rate (CER) and the Respiration Quotients (RQ) both on fermenters and on flasks. This tool allows visualization of the process, an increase of reliability and repeatability, dedicated process optimisation without limitations (e.g. oxygen, nutrients etc.) and predictions for the scale up. BlueSens helps customers to understand, control and optimise their process. YIELD MASTER: GAS YIELD MEASUREMENTThe unique structure of the CH4 sensors from BlueSens facilitates measuring methane concentrations in processes that sometimes produce much, and sometimes little gas. The use of sample taking is impossible there, so conventional systems fail. CH4 PAT CONFORM SENSORSThe CH4 PAT conform sensors are simply screwed onto the fermentation container and measure the methane content directly over the sample, even at 55° C in water-saturated atmospheres. The accruing volumes are precisely registered via a precision volumenometer (Milligascounter®). GAS ANALYSIS SOFTWAREThe data is registered online with the corresponding software and visualised on the computer. Optionally, BlueSens can provide everything as accessories; from the stirrer through to the incubator. ADDITIONAL GAS SENSORSTo cover as many measurement parameters as possible, BlueSens also offers sensors for the following:
