NEAR INFRA-RED (NIR) SPECTROMETERS

With more than 14 years of experience in manufacturing Near Infra-Red (NIR) spectrometers, we are committed to providing the pharmaceutical industry with the latest, most cost effective measuring solutions offering the highest possible spectrometry performance.

100% INTERNAL REFERENCES

All of our Reflectance Measurement Systems (RMS) incorporate a compact NIR spectrometer. The systems use a 256-element TE-cooled InGaAs diode array detector for fast data acquisition, improved productivity, and better quality assurance. These spectrometers – which cover the spectral region ranges from 900nm to 1,700nm or 1,100nm to 2,200nm – are enclosed within a durable Class I, Div II housing.

CDI Pharma RMS units each feature a durable sample probe equipped with a built-in spectralon disk used as a 100% white reference. Combined with its two internal tungsten halogen lamps (one as a backup), referencing can be done at any time without having to touch the unit.

This white reference disk can also be used to conduct linearity tests and low/high flux noise measurements as per USP <1119>. The probe head also includes our AutoCal feature: an internal Hg / Ar line source used to maintain a constant accurate wavelength calibration. With low maintenance and minimal operator involvement, CDI Pharma instruments help you get it right the first time.

BLEND UNIFORMITY MONITOR - BM-1000

CDI Pharma's blend uniformity monitor, BM-1000, is an NIR Sensor system designed for fast, simple on-line and real-time monitoring of blend homogeneity and end-point determination in V and bin style blenders while reducing scrap material output.

Because it is self-referencing, CDI Pharma's blend uniformity monitor can perform IQ / OQ checks at regular intervals or on demand without removing or uninstalling it from the blender. The BM-1000 is compact and rugged, ready for use in the laboratory, pilot plant, or production environment. The blend uniformity monitor's built-in battery and WiFi capability also make the system easily portable.

PRECISION DRYER MONITOR - DM-1000

CDI Pharma’s dryer monitor, DM-1000, monitors and determines moisture and solvent content accurately, precisely, on-line and in real-time on a fluid-bed dryer. This increases efficiency and predictability by monitoring process variability.

The dryer monitor provides direct, non-invasive measurement with no sample preparation. It provides real-time information, both chemical and physical, of all components of the sample, increasing productivity and lowering manufacturing costs by eliminating rework or rejects (no OOS reports).

SELF-REFERENCING PROBE

CDI Pharma’s self-referencing probe for measuring coating thickness is designed so that it can be attached to the spraying arm of any pan coater. The probe is contained within an explosion-proof stainless steel housing, and can easily be connected to any of CDI Pharma’s NIR spectrometers via a fiber optic cable and power cord. 

The head produces a beam of light approximately 25mm in diameter, projected through a window equipped with an air curtain (optional), which prevents the sample window from being fouled and allows the probe to be directly in the environment where the coating is applied.

BLEND MONITORING SOFTWARE

CDI Pharma provides complete solutions that include custom software design, pre-production, and validation. Our blend monitor software allows quantitative and qualitative blend analysis using statistical methods, including classical least squares analysis. For validation, CDI PharmaSpec is 21 CFR Part 11 compliant and allows basic functions like data acquisition, storage of data, system security, and electronic signatures.

CDI Pharma offers extensive pre-sale and post-sale customer support. We provide demonstrations of all our products. Furthermore, we will analyze customer samples at our laboratory to determine which of our systems best suit your particular application.
