Tami Industries - Ceramic Membranes for Tangential / Crossflow FiltrationTami Industries manufactures ceramic membranes for tangential and crossflow filtration applied to liquid separation, including microfiltration, ultrafiltration and Fine Ultrafiltration (from 1.4µm to 2nm). Tami Industries creates its own ceramic membranes and transforms them internally. Tami developed a new generation of crossflow filtration products at a laboratory level. Major products include the Valisette laboratory test kit and Zig-Zag, both of which work with Inside Ceram or Filtanium ceramic membranes. These are the best products for treating the concentration, fractionation or purification of amino acids, monoclonal antibodies, recombinant proteins, cell cultures, vitamins and antibiotics, virus concentration or removal, pyrogen removal or the desalting of proteins. ADVANTAGES OF CERAMIC TUBULAR MEMBRANESTheir ability to withstand extremes of pH (0 to 14), abrasives, high temperatures (up to 350°C), high solids concentration and steam sterilisation, coupled with their high flux rates, makes ceramic membranes suitable for a wide range of applications where organic membranes would be unsuitable. The Inside Ceram range of ceramic tubular membranes uses a combination of alumina, titania and zirconia oxides, while the Filtanium range is manufactured in pure titanium oxide. The inorganic structure makes the membranes more robust than conventional organic membranes, giving them a much longer lifespan than organic varieties. TAMI Industries ceramic membranes are widely used in pharmaceutical / biotechnology (fermentation broth, vaccine), food and beverage (milk, cheese, drink) and environmental applications (decontamination, mechanic and metallurgic industries). The main advantage of TAMI Industries membranes when compared to other ceramic membranes can be summarised as:
CERAMIC MEMBRANES DESIGNThe main advantage of Tami Industries' ceramic membranes comes from their design. The non-circular channels give the membrane an increased filtration surface compared to the classical circular channels. This particular channel shape also increases the possibility of turbulence and therefore the cleaning effect on the membrane surface, resulting in a lower fouling of the membrane. Ceramic membranes are designed for years of operation. Designing the system with appropriate cleaning in place will optimise the plant's performance and ensure longevity of the membranes. TAMI Industries' membranes are dimensionally interchangeable, and compatible with other ceramic membranes. You can upgrade your existing installation by retrofitting it with Tami Industries membranes. CERAMIC DISC MEMBRANESInside Disram: ceramic disc membranes and disc holders allow all the operations of separation made by standard dead-end filtration and crossflow in the microfiltration, ultrafiltration and fine UF ranges. MEMBRANE TEST KITValisette laboratory test kit: The Valisette laboratory test kit is designed for choosing the most adapted membrane for separation activity. It works with Inside Ceram or Filtanium ceramic tubular membranes. This equipment allows separation operations in the microfiltration, ultrafiltration and fine ultrafiltration ranges. CARTERS Zig-Zag: Zig-Zag is a compact carter with a large filtration area. It is adapted to the Inside Ceram or Filtanium ceramic tubular membranes (Ø 25mm). It allows the treatment of solutions thanks to three semi-industrial membranes placed in series. Zig-Zag allows you to work on membranes with different hydraulic diameters and adapt a membrane to the products to be treated. Helicopter: Helicopter is a laboratory carter adapted for comparative filtration tests on tubular membranes. It allows the simultaneous testing of four (Ø 10mm) membranes with the same solution and under identical operational conditions (temperature, pressure).
