The Vision for Real World Data – Harnessing the Opportunities in the UK

This white paper, published by the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI), highlights the importance of conducting real world (RW) data studies in the UK pharmaceutical industry.

The paper details the key actions that the UK pharmaceutical industry and life sciences research sector need to take and examines the current and potential future importance of RW data and the significant role the data plays in ensuring equitable access by patients to new innovative medicines.

The ABPI is of the opinion that RW data plays an important role in ensuring fair access to innovative medicines and stressed that RW data studies were less expensive to set up than clinical trials.
