SCHOTT has appointed Christophe Muguet as vice-president of its global syringe business. He leads this area’s business activities as part of SCHOTT Pharmaceutical Packaging from the offices in St Gallen, Switzerland. His responsibilities include business development, product management, research and development, as well as operations.

"Christophe is deeply familiar with the syringe business and his expertise will help us further strengthen our presence and activities in this area", said Andreas Reisse, vice president of the Pharmaceutical Packaging business segment at SCHOTT. "The field of pre-filled syringes made of glass and polymer is a growing market and Christophe’s insights and industry experience make him a strong addition to our team."

Muguet joins SCHOTT from Becton Dickinson, where he was vice president of industrial operations, which included the responsibility for global operations of the company’s pharmaceutical systems business unit with six production sites in France, Hungary, Japan, Mexico, the UK and the US. Previously, Muguet held several positions at Becton Dickinson in the areas of supply chain, IT and planning. Altogether, he spent a total of 17 years at the US-based medical technology company. Prior to joining Becton Dickinson, he worked in procurement, production and supply chain at GlaxoSmithKline and Serono. Christophe Muguet holds a masters degree in engineering from Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Métiers in Paris.
