With the new Indumax H CLS54, Endress+Hauser is launching a conductivity sensor with certified hygienic design onto the market. It is specially designed for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors, where proof of hygiene in the form of the relevant certificates is indispensable.
Only pure PEEK (so-called virgin PEEK) is used for wet parts. No seals come into contact with the product (apart from the seal into contact with the process connection). This ensures that the sensor complies with FDA stipulations.
The crucial certificate from the EHEDG (European Hygienic Engineering and Design Group) has already been submitted as further proof of hygiene. Certification according to US 3-A standards is pending.
As a new, optional feature, the sensor is offered with the bioreactivity tests according to USP (United States Pharmacopeia), parts 87 and 88, class VI. These are tests to establish how living organisms react to the sensor material, to avoid all risks from contamination of drugs. This is a key criterion for the international pharmaceutical / biotechnology market.
Another new feature is that explosion-protected versions are now offered in conjunction with the hygienic design that is increasingly required in the pharmaceutical industry.
In addition, Endress+Hauser is launching the Smartec S CLD134 measuring system onto the market. It combines the new CLS54 sensor with the transmitter electronics in a stainless steel housing, which comes with a comfortable menu structure and up to two current outputs with HART or with PROFIBUS. Smartec S CLD134 is available both in a compact and a separate design.
