Mexico pharma industry IT recruitment activity rises 31.0% in July 2021

Mexico pharma industry registered a 31.0% rise in IT hiring activity in July 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.

The industry’s overall hiring decreased by 5.96% in July 2021 compared with June 2021.

Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.18% share in July 2021, recording an increase of 2.08% over the last three-month average share.

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 106.38% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Mexico pharma industry in July 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 59.57% in July 2021, a 16.67% growth over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 19.15% share, an increase of 200% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 12.77%, registering a 25% decline from June 2021.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 10.64%, down 37.5% over the previous month.

Top five pharma companies in Mexico IT recruitment activity in July 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average flat growth share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Mexico pharma industry during July 2021 over June 2021.

AstraZeneca posted 37 IT jobs in July 2021 and registered a rise of 68.18% over the previous month, followed by Schreiner MediPharm with 4 jobs and a flat growth. Oak Street Health with 4 IT jobs and Johnson & Johnson with 2 jobs, recorded a 33.33% drop and a 33.33% decline, respectively.

Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 65.96%, up by 24% from June 2021. Mid Level positions with a 19.15% share, a growth of 28.57% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 14.89% share, down 36.36% over June 2021.
