BNT-165e is under clinical development by BioNTech and currently in Phase II for Malaria. According to GlobalData, Phase II drugs for Malaria have a 50% phase transition success rate (PTSR) indication benchmark for progressing into Phase III. GlobalData’s report assesses how BNT-165e’s drug-specific PTSR and Likelihood of Approval (LoA) scores compare to the indication benchmarks. Buy the report here.
GlobalData tracks drug-specific phase transition and likelihood of approval scores, in addition to indication benchmarks based off 18 years of historical drug development data. Attributes of the drug, company and its clinical trials play a fundamental role in drug-specific PTSR and likelihood of approval.
BNT-165e overview
BNT165e is under development for the prevention of Plasmodium falciparum malaria. The vaccine candidate is a combination of three distinct RNAs, BNT165c and BNT165d (composed of BNT165d1 and BNT165d2), encoding P. falciparum antigens encapsulated in lipid nanoparticles (LNPs). The BNT165c RNA encodes the Plasmodium falciparum circumsporozoite protein (PfCSP). The BNT165d1 and BNT165d2 RNAs both encode conserved, immunogenic segments of liver stage-expressed proteins. It is administered through intramuscular route.
