BPX-401 is under clinical development by Bellicum Pharmaceuticals and currently in the Phase II in clinical pathway. The characteristics of the clinical trial as well as other attributes related to the drug, regulations, and company play a fundamental role in ensuring the likelihood of transition that the drug moves from its current development stage to next.
According to GlobalData, the latest event to affect BPX-401’s likelihood of approval (LoA) and phase transition for Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL, Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia) took place on 11 Mar 2022, which increased the likelihood that the drug progresses to the next phase in its clinical pathway and increased the likelihood of final approval for this indication.
In addition, the same event on 11 Mar 2022 increased BPX-401’s LoA and PTSR for Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma.
GlobalData uses proprietary data and analytics to provide a complete picture of this assessment in their BPX-401 Likelihood of Approval (LoA) and Phase Transition Success Rate (PTSR) Report.
BPX-401 overview
BPX-401 is under development for the treatment of adult and pediatric acute lymphocytic leukemia and certain non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas. The therapy is composed of CAR T cells transduced with a retroviral vector to target CD19. CaspaCIDe technology consists of an inducible Caspase-9-based cell safety switch, and the small molecule activator, AP1903. It functions as a regulated switch to enhance the activity of the T cells. It was also under development for chronic lymphocytic leukemia
