Ebola Zaire vaccine (Ervebo) is a live attenuated, recombinant viral vaccine. It consists of a live attenuated recombinant Vesicular Stomatitis Virus (rVSV) (strain indiana) with a deletion of the VSV envelope glycoprotein replaced with the Zaire Ebolavirus (ZEBOV) (strain kikwit-1995) surface glycoprotein. It is formulated as suspension for intramuscular route of administration. Ervebo is indicated for active immunization of individuals 18 years of age or older to protect against Ebola virus disease and for the prevention of Ebola virus disease (EVD), caused by Zaire ebolavirus in individuals 18 years of age and older.
