Globally, the total confirmed cases of Covid-19 have reached over 143,870,000, with over 3,059,000 deaths and over 94,940,000 recoveries.

Covid-19 cases are rising rapidly across the world with over five million new cases in a week.

According to the WHO, this is the highest number of cases ever recorded in a week.

India has set a global record on the highest number of daily new cases.

The situation is alarming in India with reports of an acute shortage of hospital beds and oxygen cylinders.

Cases are also rising sharply in Latin America and the Middle East.

The countries with the highest daily new cases per million population are in Latin America, the Middle East, Central Europe, and Central Asia.

Uruguay, Turkey, Argentina, Cyprus, and Mongolia were relatively unaffected in the first wave, but now are countries with the highest rate of daily new cases per million population.
