The Tokyo Olympics are due to take place in less than three months; however, with rising Covid-19 cases in Japan, a state of emergency has been extended until 31st May in several prefectures to prevent the situation worsening.
However, with only 0.9% of the population fully vaccinated in Japan, and many residents petitioning for the games to be called off, it is uncertain if they will go ahead as planned.
