Globally, the total confirmed cases of Covid-19 have reached over 141,130,000 while the total number of deaths has passed the grim milestone of 3 million, with more than 3,020,000 deaths and over 93,110,000 recoveries.
The US, India, and Brazil occupy the first, second, and third positions respectively, for total confirmed cases. India is reporting a sharp upward trend for daily new confirmed cases and daily new deaths.
The total confirmed cases have reached 15 million in India. There is still no respite for Brazil as it continues to report high numbers of daily new cases and deaths.
The UK has vaccinated approximately 50% of its population with the first dose.
Daily new cases have stabilized with 2,000-3,000 daily new cases reported in the last two weeks.
As the schools start reopening this week after the long Easter holiday, cases might start to rise.
However, the country is hoping that a high rate of vaccination will prevent the exponential rise in cases.
