Globally, the total confirmed cases of Covid-19 have reached over 190,504,000, with more than 4,091,000 deaths and over 137,905,000 recoveries reported.
The US, India, and Brazil remain the top three countries for total confirmed cases of Covid-19.
In Europe, France has reported close to 6 million total confirmed cases.
France reported an average of 7,433 new daily cases in the last week. Cases have increased by 204% from the average two weeks ago.
The cases fatality rate in France stands at 1.88% of 18 July 2021.
France has fully vaccinated approximately 40% of its population.
The UK, Italy, and Spain follow France as the European countries with the highest number of total confirmed cases.
In the week leading up to 18 July, the UK reported an average of 43,409 new daily cases.
Italy and Spain’s seven-day average was reported at 2,197 cases and 23,290 cases, respectively.
Due to the increase in cases, Spain has reintroduced a night-time curfew in Catalonia. Public gatherings have been restricted to no more than ten people.
The neighbouring region of Valencia has also introduced a night-time curfew, and Navarre has presented a similar plan to curb the spread of the virus.
The UK has fully vaccinated approximately 53.5% of its population.
The US has fully vaccinated 49.2% of its population and Germany and Italy 46.1% and 43% of the population, respectively.
