Comorbidity a major concern in people with angina pectoris

Chest discomfort, pain or tightness are caused by Angina pectoris. On its own, angina is not a disease, but it can be a symptom of a more serious underlying medical condition constricting normal blood flow to the heart.

A principal concern in angina patients is comorbidity - research shows over half of the patients with angina also have significant comorbidities, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD), diabetes, chronic renal disease or hypertension. Read more here.
