Despite the recent surge in the daily confirmed cases of Covid-19 in India, average case fatality rate is relatively low

In the past three months, India has reported a total of approximately 145,000 confirmed cases, as well as more than 4,100 deaths as a result of Covid-19. Despite this, the country's case fatality rate (CFR) is reportedly relatively low in comparison to the other 11 worst-affected countries across the globe.

The surge in cases across India can be coupled with the recent easing of the lockdown, alongside an increase in testing capacity. Due to these factors, India could see a peak in cases in the coming months. Read more here.
