Risk of Covid-19 surge in India as strict lockdown measures are loosened

Covid-19 has affected India more than any other country in Asia. Based on current daily cases, India will be the fourth most heavily affected country globally behind Brazil, Russia and the US in the next couple of weeks. GlobalData does not believe India will see noteworthy decreases in new cases soon as a result of inadequate control of the pandemic.

GlobalData believes that it will take an extra six weeks of continued strict social distancing efforts before new cases will decrease to less than 1,000. Read more here.
