Strict lockdown policies in Peru have done little to curb the spread of Covid-19

Peru now has more than 237,000 confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), as well as more than 7,000 deaths, the second-highest cases reported across Latin America. Since the beginning of April, Covid-19 death rates in Peru have surpassed the death rates reported in Mainland China.

The country has implemented strict lockdown measures, yet this has done little to curb the spreading of the disease. Read more here.
