Molecular Response has acquired the world's largest cryo-preserved human cancer tissue bank, which containing more than 144,000 discrete cancer samples procured over a period of 20 years.

The company acquired the tumour bank, along with properly de-identified clinical information and validated test procedures, as part of a acquisition of key assets from Oncotech.

Each of the sample has been preserved as a living single-cell suspension and stored at -180C, to be available for research into cell line propagation and downstream ex-vivo treatments.

Molecular Response CEO Cyrus Mirsaidi said that it would be able to work with its biopharma partners to pick the best new cancer indications for experimental drugs to maximise clinical trial budgets.
