In the wake of the World Health Organization’s decision to raise the pandemic health alert level for the H1N1 (swine flu) virus from level 5 to 6, Sanofi Pasteur has announced its readiness to support government efforts against the outbreak.

Sanofi Pasteur president and CEO Wayne Pisano said the company was committed to developing and supplying a vaccine against the flu strain.

“Sanofi Pasteur remains in continuous communication with these health authorities to help develop a tailored response to local public health needs,” Pisano said.
