Globally, the total confirmed cases of Covid-19 have reached over 184,186,000, with more than 3,985,000 deaths and over 133,729,000 recoveries reported.

Covid-19 cases are still rising worldwide, with Brazil and India reporting a high number of new infections and deaths each day.

Cases in Indonesia have also risen sharply in the last three weeks leading to oxygen shortages across the country.

In the Caribbean, countries are still heavily affected with the average number of new infections in Cuba per day reaching a new high of 2,700.

While the number of Covid-19 cases in England and Wales have increased by 25% in the last week, hospitalization has not yet increased sharply and remains at 1.91 new admission per 100,000 population.

New Covid-19 cases in Scotland have decreased slightly, but hospitalizations have risen in the last week at an average of 32 new admissions per day.

In the UK, admission rates remain highest in the oldest age groups but the death rate is expected to be lower than the previous wave as these groups are now fully vaccinated.
