Globally, the total confirmed cases of Covid-19 have reached over 182,734,000 cases, with more than 3,957,000 deaths and over 132,566,000 recoveries reported.

The US remains the leader for total confirmed Covid-19 cases, followed by India and Brazil.

Daily confirmed cases and deaths have continued to decline this week in all three of these countries.

However, new confirmed cases in India and Brazil exceeded 48,000 and 43,000, respectively, on 1 July, compared to over 13,000 confirmed cases in the US.

Cases of Covid-19 are on the rise in several countries in Southeast Asia.

In Thailand, daily confirmed cases have increased by nearly 69% since 12 June.

Daily cases are also on the rise in Myanmar and exceeded 6,000 at the end of June according to the WHO.

In addition, the Delta variant has been detected among several Covid-19 outbreaks near Myanmar’s border with India.

With limited testing, health experts fear many cases are going undetected in the country, which is still reeling from February’s military takeover.
