By Paul Dennis

3 November

Globally, the total confirmed cases of Covid-19 have reached over 46,997,000 with over 1,208,000 deaths and 31,395,000 recoveries.

The US continues to take the lead as the most heavily affected country worldwide, followed by India and Brazil.

Cases continue to rise across Europe, with Ukraine and Hungary reporting record highs in daily confirmed cases.

South Africa, as the worst affected region in Africa, has seen an overall decrease in new daily confirmed cases since late July.

However, the public are urged to not become complacent in fear that the country could experience a second wave.

With new daily cases in Peru levelling off since mid-October, Matchu Picchu, the ancient city in the Andes mountains has re-opened after eight months of closure.
