UK charity Action Medical Research has awarded more than £148,000 to researchers in Oxford, UK, to develop a novel vaccine against meningitis B in children.
The funds have been given to Oxford Vaccine Group, Department of Paediatrics; and the Jenner Institute, Nuffield Department of Medicine; both of which are part of the University of Oxford
Action Medical Research senior research evaluation manager Dr Alexandra Dedman said the organisation is determined to stop the suffering that meningitis causes to babies and children.
“The charity finds and funds some of the best medical research in the world for the benefit of babies, children and young people,” Dedman said.
