Controversial anti-psychotic drugs are prescribed to dementia patients needlessly and contribute to many deaths, according to a new report.
Four in five of the 180,000 patients in the UK given the anti-psychotics should not be taking them, according to the review commissioned by government ministers.
The independent report said that the medication was linked to 1,800 deaths a year, according to the BBC.
The UK Government has pledged to cut the number of patients on the medication by two thirds in three years.
