Placon Launches Eco-Friendly Pharma Packaging

Thermoformed packaging maker Placon Corporation has launched EcoStar PC50 and HS 1000 packaging as eco-packaging solutions for healthcare providers.

EcoStar PC50 consists 50% post-consumer content and 85% total recycled content, Placon said.

The company, based in the US state of Wisconsin, said the materials can be used in clamshells, in-process trays, vial accountability trays and glucose meter packaging.

EcoStar HS 1000 uses 35% post-consumer content, which can be used in fill and seal packaging operations.

PC50 and HS1000 are part of Placon’s EcoStar line, a recycled PET which offers clarity and imparts resistance, the packaging maker said.
