US-based pharmaceutical major Pfizer is considering the sale of its Capsugel business, responsible for the manufacture of capsules and other drug-delivery systems.

The company said the move came as part of its review of businesses, with Capsugel, bought for $740m in 2009, considered to be outside of Pfizer’s main interests.

Capsugel has manufacturing operations in the US, Europe, China and India.
