Methylnaltrexone bromide (Relistor) is a peripherally acting quaternary derivative of naltrexone. It is formulated as injection for subcutaneous route and tablets for oral route of administration. It is indicated for the treatment of opioid-induced constipation in advanced illness patients and in adults with chronic non-cancer pain. Relistor is used for the treatment of opioid-induced constipation (OIC) when response to laxative therapy has not been sufficient in adult patients, aged 18 years and older.

 It was under development for the treatment of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
