Mobile engagement solutions provider Lumi Technologies, in partnership with healthcare market research provider Kantar Health, has won this year’s market research in the mobile world (MRMW) award.

Lumi Technologies has received the Best Use of Mobile Technology award for the second year in a row, while Kantar Health acquired the award for new mobile survey application that is designed to assess perceptions of health in comparison with actual biometrics.

Lumi Technologies CTO Marcus Wikars said: “It is a great honour to win this MRMW award, especially in the light of tough competition from the other nominees.

“It shows the great potential and opportunity of mHealth applications and how biometric data, together with survey answers, location and media capture, can be used to positive effect.”

"It is a great honour to win this MRMW award, especially in the light of tough competition from the other nominees."

The new mobile app built by Kantar Health is developed on Lumi Technologies’ survey application Lumi Say.

The award-winning survey application can capture patient insight around events as close to the ‘moment of experience’, even while monitoring daily activity or experiencing pain.

While conducting the pilot test for Kantar Health’s new mobile app, patients were questioned about their daily activity at the same time as the application also gathered their biometric data from fitness tracker.

According to the test results, many patients had serious misconceptions about their daily activity levels.

Patients considered themselves to be active, when in reality they recorded low levels of activity and vice versa.

In future, the new mobile survey app is expected to enable Kantar Health monitor patient journey, their adherence to medication and its efficacy, as well as their experience of using certain products and the related health outcomes.
