The alliance is designed to expedite the discovery of vital insights that could significantly improve cancer patient outcomes.

Ontada’s data encapsulates detailed patient journey insights, offering a distinct perspective on community cancer care.

This includes information from over 2.4 million patients and more than 80 tumour types from The US Oncology Network (The Network), a consortium of independent, community-based practices committed to enhancing local cancer care.

The collaboration with Datavant will enable Ontada’s researchers to fully harness their data’s potential and extract valuable clinical information.

Ontada’s database, sourced from The Network, which provides care for one in five cancer patients in the US, will be made accessible to Ontada’s partners through safe, tokenised access.

Ontada senior vice-president and chief research officer Amy O’Sullivan said: “As the importance of real-world data in oncology continues to grow and the volume of data continues to increase, evaluating new data sources can be time-consuming.

“Our life sciences partners need a quick way to identify data sources that will meet their needs and support their efforts to transform cancer treatment.

“Through our collaboration with Datavant, we’re enabling acceleration of fit-for-purpose data identification and time to insights, whether they be for generating real-world evidence, shaping commercial strategies, or developing new drugs.”

Last month, Ontada collaborated with Microsoft to utilise the latter’s AI competencies, aiming to reinforce huge volumes of unstructured healthcare information into meaningful insights.
