Lifecore Biomedical and PolyPeptide Laboratories have entered a partnership agreement to deliver an integrated, end-to-end peptide manufacturing solution for US pharmaceutical customers.

The partnership combines the peptide manufacturing and development capabilities of PolyPeptide with Lifecore’s formulation, fill/finish and packaging expertise.

Lifecore chief commercial officer Mark DaFonseca stated: “This collaboration brings together two leading organisations, each an expert in its field, to deliver value to peptide-based pharmaceutical developers.

“Together, we expect to optimise product development activities through a range of collaborative studies and assessments, and by streamlining the supply chain, aim to help customers meet their development milestones.”

The joint approach aims to facilitate a smooth transition between drug substance and drug product stages, allowing customers to expedite development timelines and mitigate risks through a US-based supply chain, while minimising development costs.

PolyPeptide business development global director and sales head Trishul Shah stated: “By aligning our technical and commercial strengths, we believe we are uniquely positioned to help customers navigate complex development challenges and bring innovative therapies to market faster.

PolyPeptide, located in Torrance in the US state of California, is a specialised contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO) that concentrates on peptide-based active pharmaceutical ingredients. The company offers comprehensive solutions that span from early-stage development to commercial supply.

Lifecore is a CDMO specialising in the development, fill and finish of sterile injectable pharmaceutical products in vials, syringes and cartridges, including complex formats.
