The AccuPyc II series are fast, fully automatic gas displacement pycnometers that provide high-speed, high-precision volume measurements, and true density calculations on a range of powders, solids, and slurries.

Micromeritics added a versatile temperature-control solution with the AccuPyc II TEC.

Gas pycnometry is recognised as one of the most reliable techniques for obtaining true, absolute, skeletal, and apparent volume and density.

However, materials subjected to changing temperatures may have a direct effect on their volume, and affect accurate density determination.

AccuPyc II TEC is excellent for use with temperature-sensitive or viscous samples, where environmental temperatures cannot be adequately controlled.

AccuPyc II TEC features a Peltier thermoelectric device to deliver temperature stability and accurate temperature control from 15C-36C, adjustable in 0.1C increments.

Available in standalone models with sample chamber sizes of 10cm³ and 100cm³, the instrument is available with an analysis module version for remote operation.

Optional software can also enable the instrument to determine the density of semi-solid bituminous materials.

With the TEC software solution, data can be closely correlated to those obtained with ASTM Test Method D70-09, but with faster specific gravity, volume, and density results.

This option includes disposable sample cups to limit contamination and minimise cleaning of the sample chamber between analyses.
