Micromeritics, the Joint CNRS-MIT laboratory <MSE>2 and the International Research Network M2UN have organised an advanced three-day GdRi workshop on materials for energy and the environment.

The event will take place from 26-28 August 2015 on the MIT campus in Boston.

With a theme of multi-scale porosity from laboratory to industrial applications, the workshop is for scientists and engineers who research or develop products and processes involving porous materials

The workshop provides:

  • Lectures by international experts about multi-scale porosity, pore mechanics and materials for energy and the environment, including Jacek Jagiello from Micromeritics
  • An informal environment that promotes a stimulating exchange of knowledge and ideas

Attendees may contribute to the workshop by submitting a half page abstract, title, and an oral presentation or a poster to Roland Pellenq at pellenq@mit.edu and Jeff Kenvin at jeff.kenvin@micromeritics.com by 10 July.

Manuscripts will also be published in a special issue of ASCE Journal Nano and Micro Mechanics, which highlights the science and application of nanoscale and nanostructured materials.

The submission deadline for a manuscript in this special issue is 15 September.

The workshop provides an opportunity to learn more about the field and gain a better understanding of others’ work.

The deadline to register for the workshop is 17 August 17.
